Carini The Essential
The winding road that leads to this delightful small town in the hinterland of the bay of the same name lies some 20km to the west of Palermo. The elegant outline of its castle dominates the town, which is surrounded by medieval houses. According to legend, the town was founded by Daedalus and given the name of Hyccara in honour of his son Icarus.
