Astronomical observatory of Palermo

The observatory is on the upper storey of the Pisan tower. It will soon house a museum of old astronomical, meteorological, seismological and topographical instruments. The observatory is dedicated to Father Piazzi, who on 1 January 1801 discovered the first asteroid from here. Make the most of your visit to also admire the superb panoramic view over Palermo.
