Sometimes known as the "farfalla" (butterfly), Favignana takes its name from the local Favonio wind. The island owes its development to the Florio family, who contributed to the expansion of the tuna industry here. While on the island, it's worth exploring the capital of the archipelago, Favignana, as well as the island's many small rocky creeks.
