The Essential
Interesting
The capital of Alto Adige lies on the Brenner route, nestling in a conch-shaped valley with vineyard- and orchard-covered slopes. The architecture of the town shows a marked Germanic influence. This industrial and commercial centre is also popular with tourists as a result of its proximity to the Dolomites. Bolzano's town centre lies between Piazza Walther and Via dei Portici, which is lined with fine houses.
