Duomo

Recommended
The cathedral is huge and has an air of solidity, yet it seems paradoxically light as a result of the subtle decoration of arcading, galleries and windows which make it such an elegant building. There is an impressive façade, a marquetrywork of multicoloured marble, and the superb San Ranieri doorway (on the tower side) with detailed bronze panels in its doors, opening onto an impressive interior with its pulpit by Giovanni Pisano... and the famous "Galileo lamp".
