Piccolomini Palace

Interesting
Looking down from one side of the Piazza del Campo, on the other side on to the via Banchi di Sotto, this attractive Florentine style palace, which today contains the archives of Siena, was built by Bernardo Rossellino, the architect of the Ruccellai palace in Florence. A facade with light bossage work stretching upwards, small cornices underlining the various levels, a protruding roof where the rising moon is set, all this gives it a real Florentine air.
