Well worth a visit, some 51km southwest of Padua, this small town is still surrounded by its impressive 14C ramparts, which are reinforced with 24 polygonal towers. The town's cathedral (attributed to Sansovino) houses a Transfiguration by Veronese, frescoes and choir stalls dating from the 16C. The next-door church of San Francesco with its lovely Gothic bell tower is also worth a visit.
