Riviera del Brenta
The Riviera del Brenta was created in the 15C by the Venetians at the beginning of the decline of the maritime era in a bid to invest in land. Its green banks bear witness to a bucolic, refined and nonchalant art de vivre - back then it took a whole day to go up the Brenta. The excursion is still as picturesque to the outskirts of Padua. At Stà, look out for the Villa Pisani (18C), set in a superb garden.
