Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni

Highly recommended
Known as the school of the Dalmatians or the "Slavonians" (Schiavoni) and founded on 19 May 145, its facade is simple yet elegant. The small interior contains the Sts George, Tryphon and Jerome cycles, a masterpiece by Vittore Carpaccio, who devoted five years (1502-07) to painting these works. Each scene has a wealth of detail, some humorous, some fantastical, always depicted in warm tones.
