Lelystad The Essential
Lelystad, capital of the province of Flevoland, bears the name of the engineer, Lely. This town is linked to Enkhuizen by a dyke, the Markerwaarddijk (31 km), which has a road on it. The Oostvaardersdiep, a 300m wide canal, is a navigable route between Amsterdam and the north of the country.
