Fries Museum / Verzetsmuseum

Recommended
A new glass building was added to this museum in 2012. The museum explores Friesian culture from the Stone Age to the modern era through exhibits such as remains from archaeological excavations, objects and photos relating to the Second World War (Resistance museum), costumes, furniture, porcelain and paintings. The museum boasts one of the richest and most beautiful collections of goldware in the Netherlands and also hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary Frisian art.
