Former hospices

The charitable institutions available to the inhabitants of the rich city Haarlem from the 15C included the Provenierschofje (1592), whose large porch opens onto the Grote Houtstraat, Brouwershofje (1472), at no 8 Tuchthuisstraat, and Hofje van Loo, dating back to 1489, which can be seen at no 7 Barrevoetestraat.
