Porters' House (Zakkendragershuisje)

Interesting
This house, situated beside the lock to the north of the Voorhaven, dates from the 17th Century. The porters used to gather here when a vessel was due to be loaded or unloaded. Nowadays it is home to a pewter craft workshop and foundry, where ancient techniques are kept alive. At numbers 34 and 36 there are very fine facade stones sculpted to represent animals.
