This museum contains the collections assembled by the university since it was founded in 1636: anatomical objects and wax models, medical instruments (dental and ophthalmic medicine collections in the Open Depot section), stuffed animals, fossils and skeletons (cabinet of curiosities). A laboratory (Jeugdlab) has also been especially set up for children. A botanical garden (Oude Hortus) from 1724 with glasshouses stands behind the museum.
