Basilica of Santa Luzia

Neo-Byzantine in style, this basilica is preceded by a vast church square and a monumental staircase. The interior, lit by three rose windows, is dominated by domes adorned with frescoes. The upper lantern of the central dome provides a magnificent panoramic view over Viana do Castelo and the Lima estuary. You can see wooded heights sprinkled with the white villages of the Barcelos region and huge beaches of fine sand.
