Weavers' Bastion

Interesting
In the 16C, maintainance of the fortifications was the responsibility of Brasov's guilds. They erected bastions which were designed to repel attackers and act as storage for provisions. Built by the weavers' guild in 1430, this example has a model of the medieval town and the outlying district of Schei, where Brasov's Romanian population lived (the Saxons dwelt inside the fortified town).
