Níjar
The Essential
Situated on the Almería-Murcia road, Níjar is an attractive village of Moorish origin. It stands on a hill overlooking the Campo de Níjar agricultural plain and is dotted with small whitewashed houses and steep streets which give it a charming atmosphere. Níjar is well known for its blue and green pottery and its jarapas, thick strips of cotton or wool made into ponchos, shawls, blankets or rugs.
