Conil de la Frontera
Conil is a fishing village 15km northwest of Vejer de la Frontera. Quiet in winter, it gets busy in summer when its 14km-long beach attracts numerous visitors. In the old town, between the sea and the Conil gate, is the Plaza Santa Catalina, home to the Torre de Guzmán, a tower once part of a castle, the Capilla de Jesús, and a local history museum, the Museo de Raíces Conileñas. Away from the square, the 18C Iglesia de la Misericórdia, a church with a colonial feel, is now a school.
