Hornachuelos The Essential
This dazzlingly whitewashed village is situated in the Sierra de Hornachuelos, 18km northeast of Palma del Río. The village has preserved ruins of its castle and ramparts, both dating from a time when this part of Spain was a caliphate (9C-10C). The village is renowned for its game-based culinary specialities (deer and wild boar). Enjoy fine views of the surrounding mountains from its various belvederes.
