Lucena The Essential
This historic town was founded during Roman times but it was under Moorish rule in the 10C-11C that Lucena developed to its greatest extent. It became a large Jewish enclave known as the "Pearl of Sepharad" and boasted a prestigious Hebrew university. Lucena experienced an artistic and economic renaissance in the 18C and is now one of the liveliest and most prosperous towns in the province of Córdoba.
