Montemayor The Essential
Montemayor lies on the N 331 between Córdoba and Montilla on a hill crowned by the keep of an extraordinarily well-preserved 14C castle built in the Mudejar style (constructed by Muslims in areas under Christian rule). The Iglesia de la Asunción and town hall stand on the Plaza de la Constitución, a pedestrianised square. The Museo de Ulía has a collection of artefacts (5C BC-15C) from the nearby Roman city of the same name.
