Santiago district

Interesting
This is one of the most characteristic districts of the town. Not to be missed; the Peñaflor palace, a seigneurial house distinguished by its curious wooden balcony; the old Arab alcazaba (11C) where the towers provide the best panoramic views over Guadix and its troglodyte district; St James' Church, its magnificent plateresque doorway and its three Mudejar ceilings; the seigneurial houses (19C) in the Calle Ancha.
