Birthplace of the Pinzón brothers, companions of Christopher Columbus, this picturesque town is built in tiers on the left bank of the Tinto. The whitewashed houses, little alleways and lively beaches are the main attractions of Palos. It is one of the stopping points on the trail of "Columbus Sites", of which the azulejos at various points serve as a reminder.
