Antequera The Essential
Interesting
Located at the heart of Málaga province and at the foot of the Sierra del Torcal, Antequera (Antikaria in Roman times) faces the Peña de los Enamorados. Today, it is a major agricultural and industrial centre which has integrated modern buildings alongside its monumental churches and paseos, while managing to preserve its typical Andalucian charm. Antequera is known for its excellent cuisine, as well as its Holy Week celebrations, which are particularly moving on the evening of Good Friday.
