Santa María de la Oliva
Situated on the pretty Plaza del Rector Merina, this former mosque was turned into a Christian church in 1249. Inside, various styles can be seen: Mudéjar on the horseshoe arches separating the main nave from the collaterals; Gothic in the openings to the chapels; Renaissance in the transept and the apse; and baroque in the belltower. The church contains a statue of the Virgin and a stunning grand retable by Alonso Cano.
