Archaeological Museum

Interesting
Housed in the former Fine Arts Pavilion, or Plateresque pavilion, from the 1929 World Fair, this Archaeology Museum has one of the richest collections in Spain. The prehistoric section contains the treasure of El Carambolo (7C-6C BC), a marvellous collection of surprisingly modern Tartesian gold jewellery of Phoenician influence, and the Goddess Astarti (8C BC), a bronze figurine bearing an inscription that is one of the peninsular's earliest examples of writing. Not forgetting the superb Roman collection, most of which comes from Itálica.
