Daroca The Essential
Interesting
Daroca appears between two ridges with 4km of crenellated walls originally punctuated by more than a hundred towers and studded with fortified gates, including the large Puerta Baja, defended by two square towers. Muslim in origin, the town was liberated from the Moors in 1120 and gained its municipal freedom in 1142. Daroca has retained the relics of the miracle of the Holy Altar Cloths (1239), fabrics which bear bloodstained imprints.
