Albarracín The Essential
Recommended
This pink-hued medieval town occupies an outstanding setting clinging to a cliff hewn by the Guadalaviar in the Sierra de Albarracín. The Albarracín ramparts were built by the Moors in the 10C and then largely rebuilt by the Christians in the 14C. The Sierra de Albarracín was inhabited as early as the Upper Palaeolithic and has a large number of cave paintings on the walls of the Abrigo de los Toricos del Prado del Navazo, Abrigo del Medio Caballo and Abrigo de Doña Clotilde.
