Teruel The Essential
Recommended
At an altitude of 916m, the capital of Lower Aragón stands on a platform that is isolated from the plateau by the trough where the Turia runs its course. The great wealth of Mudéjar art in Teruel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be explained by the good relations between Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities here until the 15C. The last mosque was only closed in 1502. The legend of the lovers of Teruel has inspired many writers.
