Fontarabia The Essential
Recommended
Separated from Hendaye by the Bidassoa estuary, Hondarribia is in one of the loveliest coastal landscapes of Guipúzcoa. The charm of this seaside resort is not limited to its beaches. Its fortified old town is well preserved and its warren of steep streets is still surrounded by ramparts and is to be explored with your nose in the air so as not to miss any architectural detail of its old houses. The port has lost nothing of its authenticity and many a local as well as many French people come to "tapear" in its numerous bars.
