Situated in the upper section of Aberlardo Sánchez park, the modern building is home to two museums. The Joaquín Sánchez Jiménez Archaeology Museum showcases remains of Iberian culture (Sphinx of Haches, sculptures from the sanctuary of Cerro de los Santos) found in digs in the province and also has a fine collection of articulated dolls from Roman times. Local boy Benjamín Palencia (1894-1980), famous for his landscapes and portraits, takes pride of place in the Fine Arts Museum.
