O Cebreiro The Essential
Located close to the Piedrafita pass, O Cebreiro's highest point is 1 300m altitude. Its unusual drystone houses with thatched roofs are descendents of Celtic huts. Today, these make up an ethnographic museum. In the small pre-Romanesque church (from the 9C), the relics of the sacred species are conserved in silver phials given by Isabella of Castile and exhibited with the chalice and the paten of the miracle.
