Rheinfelden The Essential
This town on the Rhine's left bank, simply separated from its German counterpart by an arcaded stone bridge, was founded by the Zähringen in 1130. It is considered the oldest town in the Argovie canton. A hot springs spa stop for boats cruising on the Rhine, it is a small town that is nice for a stroll, as much in the old quarter's little streets as in the spa's park along the river.
