Jewish Museum of Switzerland

Daily life and its traditions, the Jewish year and its festivals, and the history of the Basel community, are all evoked through various objects. Remember that it was in Basel, in 1897, that the first Zionist congress was held on the appeal of Theodor Herzl which brought together Jews from Europe and America.
