This museum is renowned for its major exhibitions. Among its 8,800 works of art are five major artists: Louis Ducros, 18C watercolour artist; Charles Gleyre, academic artist; Félix Vallotton, Nabi artist; Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen, artist, cartoonist and printmaker; and Louis Soutter, an artist on the fringes of official circuits. There are also some prestigious works by French artists (Courbet, Cézanne and Renoir, etc.).
