The Essential
Pendennis Castle stands at the tip of the peninsula, at the mouth of the bay. From there, a low ridge divides the town into two sections. To the south, the residential district and its hotels overlook Falmouth Bay, while to the north the Old Town and its seafront face the Fal estuary (its Cornish name is Carrick Roads).
