Truro The Essential
Historically a river port and mining centre, Truro was considered the county "metropolis" in the 18C and 19C, on account of its theatre and assembly rooms, library (1792) and cathedral (1880-1910). It is the most notable Georgian town west of Bath, with 18C houses, notably in Boscawen Street and Lemon Street.
