Hill Top

This is the kingdom of Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddle-Duck and the retreat of Beatrix Potter (who considered herself as primarily a sheep-rearer and was embarrassed by the success of her children's books). This house has not changed since her death in 1943, and every year, thousands of curious readers come here in search of their lost childhood. Inside the 17C house, you can see Potter's water paintings, dollhouses and other souvenirs.
