Keswick
Keswick The Essential
This typical lakeland town of medieval origin was the home of Coleridge and Southey (who died here); their respective families lived at Greta Hall (private). Thanks to the graphite mined at Borrowdale since the mid-16C, Keswick has the distinction of having been the site of the world's first pencil factory (1832).
