Ilfracombe
Ilfracombe The Essential
This is the most popular seaside resort on the North Devon coast, with its scenery of cliffs and pretty creeks set against a backdrop of attractive wooded hills and valleys. Ilfracombe was originally a trading and fishing port, before attracting holidaymakers in the 19C when access was opened up, by steamship trips to and from Wales, and railway links with the rest of the country.
