Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King

Recommended
The construction of the cathedral (1933-1967) was inhibited by the Second World War and changes in architects. This circular concrete building, the lantern tower of which is 88m high, places the main altar in the centre of the structure. In the crypt, the vast brick vaulting by Lutyens divides the space, with areas used for concerts and a museum, the chapel of relics, the door to which is a rolling stone gate in the form of a 6-ton marble disc.
