Dunster The Essential
Recommended
Situated in beautiful landscape to the northeast of Exmoor, this beautiful little town dominated by its castle enjoyed a flourishing maritime trade with Bordeaux, Spain, Italy and Wales until the sea retreated in the 15C-16C. Dunster subsequently switched to the wool trade and weaving industry. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, busy with visitors strolling among its streets bordered by bright houses with thatched roofs.
