Discovery Museum

In this Science, Technology and local history museum in Newcastle, pride of place is given to Turbinia which, for a while was the fastest vessel in the world and the star of the 1879 naval review titled Spithead. Some of the exhibitions provide an insight into the aspirations of the town and underline the its role as a premier centre for shipbuilding. The important pioneering inventions and a section devoted to information technology top it off.
