Jorvik Viking Centre

Interesting
Between 1976 and 1981, archaeologists unearthed four rows of houses from the Viking settlement here, containing remarkably well-preserved objects such as boots and brooches. Cutting-edge technology has been used to recreate the old Viking city, even including the sounds and smells of the 10C.
