York Castle Museum

Interesting
The former debtors' prison and women's prison now house a museum of daily life. Kirkgate is the exact reproduction of a Victorian street, with its hackney cabs, shops etc. Half Moon Court recalls the daily life of artisans during the Edwardian period. The highwayman Dick Turpin spent the last night before his execution in the cells here.
