The popularity of this museum, one of the most visited in the world, can be put down to the beauty of the site and the variety of the exhibits (8 000 in total) and the quality of the fine art collections, which include works by renowned artists: the famous Christ of St John of the Cross by Salvador Dalí, to name but one. The museum has been extended and curated by theme. The pieces in the ethnology, zoology and other sections are now presented in a colourful ways.
