Hamilton Mausoleum

Alexander, 10th duke of Hamilton (1767-1852), known as El Magnifico, ordered this large building that was completed over a 15 year period. The duke was buried here in 1852 in an Egyptian sarcophagus. The mausoleum is known for its echoes.
