Brecon/Aberhonddu
Brecon/Aberhonddu The Essential
The Normans built a castle here. Its ruins overlook the confluence of the River Hondu and River Husk, as well as a priory, whose church is now a cathedral. Brecon is a former county town and has retained its complex network of medieval streets with dignified 18C houses. Brecon is also a starting point for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park and its renowned magnificent red sandstone mountains.
