Transferred to the National Trust in 1957, Springhill used to be the family residence of the Conynghams, who arrived from Ayrshire in the 17C. the early 17C building was enlarged in the 18C with wings and bay windows. The house contains many family portraits and fine 18 and 19C furniture. In the outhouses, you can see a collection of costumes from the 18, 19 and 20C.
