Castle Archdale Country Park
Vast stretches of wood with varied species of trees and bushes and populated with deer, red squirrels, badgers, otters and game border the lake. The Archdale family who took over the estate in 1612 left many souvenirs: an arboretum, a walled garden, a leisure garden, cold water pool and sauna. The former outhouses now contain the visitor centre and an exhibition of agricultural tools.
